Today Amari H. Smith has announced the debut of a function that is centered on giving direct recognition to Chicago creatives; this event will function similarly to that of the Met Gala in NYC (red carpet experience).
This function is called "Chi Gala." On the night of the show, one can expect to see a few up and coming artists (of all mediums), all of who have been identified and nominated by the Chi Gala committee. This event will be held on the evening of December 18th, 2016. Amari has had much success in the past with various ventures rather it be in events or managing the ever so talented Sydny August; in particular he has consistently thrown outstanding fashion shows with his KeepYa team, as well as a packed out award show titled "KeepYaAwards." Chi Gala will mark Amari's 6th event, he has consistently brought his vision to life and positively impacted the Chicago arts community. Time after time, Amari has reminded everyone why he is an influence on the creative youth culture in the city of Chicago.

The clothing label, in partnership with Zumiez, hosted a free show at Aragon Ballroom on Friday night with performances from Chicago’s own Joey Purp and The Hood Internet.
RIPNDIP gave out complimentary gifts bags with balloons, water bottles, and condoms to the full house. Thousands of plastic balls with the brand’s cult cat character Lord Nermal lined the floor of the historic venue. The centerpiece of the event was a massive ball pit that you had to jump on a springboard to fling yourself into. RIPNDIP’s colorful cat and alien mascots casually roamed around Aragon throughout the night. The weirdly awesome vibe definitely reflected RIPNDIP’s trippy skate culture brand.

These days it's difficult finding an artist who's at a perfect place in their career to do even greater things with their music. Let's be honest, we can all go on Social Media and come across music we enjoy, but how often do you come across an artist that's music makes your face scrunch like you got a whiff of something foul?
Friday just got a whole lot better.
