I was introduced to Death from Above 1979 with a visual and song, "Virgins". Within the first 20 seconds, I caught myself smiling: I really like what these guys are illustrating; not just with the visuals, but their message overall. Hailing from Canada, the dance-punk band instantly sold me on their aesthetic.
The "Virgins" visual shows some hyper conservative people, potentially Amish, in a church environment; then completely transforms as they start rocking out to the band. I appreciate the paradox, so, I had to see what these guys are all about.
The band dropped a project, Death From Above 1979 Live From Third Man, some months back; releasing "Right On Frankenstein" as the single. They're currently on a national tour, so definitely grab tickets (deathfromabove1979.com) and see you guys Oct 13 at House of Blues, for our Chicago viewers.
