On Tuesday, SocialWorks announced a partnership with LANDR, a Montreal-based audio mastering company, that will allow 75 Chicago-area kids to get audio mastering instruction this summer. LANDR will also donate $1 for every new user who uses their software to master a track from June 6-20, and will be donating 10 percent of all purchase revenue to SocialWorks.
It’s yet another statement of intent from Chance The Rapper’s organization. Intent, that is, to better Chicago for the youth and the future, especially in giving them opportunities to pursue the arts, which they otherwise might not get. The move is part of the Kids of the Kingdom program, which aims to provide outlets of expression for Chicago youth throughout the summer. You can find out more about LANDR here and about SocialWorks here.
