-- Favorite sports? Basketball. -- Favorite teams? ALL CHICAGO TEAMS! -- Favorite restaurants? Cheesecake Factory. -- Favorite TV shows? Sportscenter. Describe when did you made your first beat? When did you know this had the potential to be more than a hobby? I created my first track when I was 10 years old in my apartment building’s studio using the software FL Studio; I was also in my grammar school’s band playing woodwind instruments and percussion. I understood that I would potentially become a music producer the first day I picked up an instrument. It just felt right. What influenced you to get into the production business and who inspires you to make the music that you do? My community influenced me to get into the music business. Ever since I was a kid, they really pushed me to become a great musician; they truly believed in me due to the sound and work ethic I displayed. I have several influences when it comes to making music; Kanye West is my biggest inspiration though. Mano for Treated Crew is also a role model to me. I appreciate the path he created for my peers and me. What music do you listen to and who are some of your favorite artists? I listen to Hip-Hop and R&B most of the times. My favorite artists are Tupac, Biggie, Nas, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Treated Crew. Who are some of your favorite artists to collaborate with in the Chicago scene? Although I’ve pretty much worked with a majority of relevant artists in the Chicago scene, I appreciate working with Vic Spencer, Doc, Cocky, and Sisi Dior. I would definitely like to work with Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa, King L, Lil Bibby, Lil Herb, Tink, etc. If you could choose one artist to collaborate with, who would it be and why? I would probably collaborate with a legend like Nas. I feel our art and visions are similar and compatible; his artistry and lyrics are amazing. I’m sure him and I would make timeless records if we ever linked up. What projects are you looking forward to in 2015? I am looking forward to Kanye West’s new project this year. His work always inspires me to take my sound and knowledge to the next level. What is one thing that people should know about you and your sound? Everyone should know that my sound is always diverse and I love to sample records. If you could give one piece of advice to aspiring artists and producers, what would it be? To all of the aspiring artists in this world, remain humble, confident, ambitious, and hardworking; save money for a budget and create an ideal marketing plan that will expose you and your work to the fullest. NETWORK! What beats / projects / collaborations have you been working on recently? I have a few untitled instrumentals tapes and compilation albums that I am working on now. They should be ready to release in August after my twin girls are born. Describe your creation process -- how do you get in the zone before you create music? When creating new production, I try to surround myself around individuals who are passionate about music as well. It allows me to discuss the ideas that I cherish and to get the proper critique in order to better self and my art.
