LDRS 1354 drops the third single off their upcoming debut tape "Lead Never Follow Vol. 1" and grab BJ The Chicago Kid & J. Ivy for a track entitled "Where I'm From". Bj the Chicago Kid and J. Ivy cover Anthony Hamilton's hit "Coming Where I'm From." The track was released as a single from the "Lead Never Follow Vol.1" mixtape hosted by Chicago lifestyle brand and culture staple LDRS1354's. BJ the Chicago Kid expresses the plight of the many inner city youths growing up in Chicago on his installment to the "Lead Never Follow" mixtape series adding to the retrospective tone of the project. He guides us through events and circumstances that have shaped his perception on socialization and culture. We hear him tell anecdotes of the street life, as he sets the scene outlining the harsh realities faced by many communities. Exposure to the world of illegal sales (often referred to as "hustling") unstable family life, incessant robbery and even romance are discussed in his lyrics. The classic production solutes BJ's vocals giving the track a truly reflective mood. J. Ivy also lends his vocals in spoke and word style verse where he spreads messages of societal peace and determination to succeed amongst the youth. Check out the single below as they embody this classic with modern issues of relevance for the highly respected Chicago brand's latest musical venture.
