Written by: Gavin Good (@itsallG_O_O_D) Chicago’s best is back with more free music for the masses. Chance the Rapper teamed up with R&B talent Jeremih and blessed the people with a charismatic, easy-going sequel to “Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama”. “Disc Two” sees the pair trade verses and hooks over ten tracks that depict Christmas from their perspectives. With “Ms. Parker”, Chance and Jeremih deliver a lovable ode to the character from the 1995 Ice Cube and Chris Tucker movie “Friday”. Jeremih opens with the first verse while Chance adds one of his own, as well as the catchy hook, “hey Ms. Parker (hello), can I shovel your snow?” Perhaps the most daring track on the project, “Are U Live” is an effortlessly jiggy collaboration from Chance, Jeremih and promising rapper Valee. All three rotate on the mic, with Valee rapping, “I got blue huns, separate the ones” before Chance jumps back in with a call-and-response type move, rapping, “ take it to Chase, facin’ a blunt” and Valee replies, “Fogo De Chao, that’s what for lunch”. For Chance-lovers and those who don’t really vibe with traditional Christmas catalogues, this one is for you. Hang up the winter coat and let Chicago’s finest put a smile on your face, listen to “Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama - Rewrapped” on Chance the Rapper’s Soundcloud via the link below!
