Written by: Zach Deitz The day that has been foreshadowed by a string of recent events has finally come to light, as notorious Chicago rapper Chief Keef has been dropped from his record label, Interscope. Keith Cozart, known as Chief Keef, was signed in the summer of 2012 by Interscope Records, off of his hype from his hit single “3Hunna”. Since this point, Keef has only delivered one album for Interscope, "Finally Rich," which sold 200,000 units, less than the number Interscope was hoping for. That, coupled with Keef’s recently growing rap sheet has culminated in the termination of his contract with Interscope. It is through a series of tweets on Tuesday, that Keef had alluded to being dropped, saying it is over irreconcilable differences in the release over the release of his upcoming album, “Back From The Dead”. The split could also be over monetary issues as well, as Keef tweeted “100% of everything goes to me now. "Jimmy (Iovine) it was cool splitting it with U, but u gave yo spot up!” This report has not been confirmed by Interscope officially, and the label is anticipated to make a statement sometime in the next 24 hours. Chief Keef’s next project expected for release is his highly awaited mixtape, "Bang 3," expected sometime in November.
