Common- The Neighborhood Ft. Lil Herb & Cocaine 80's

The Neighborhood is a standout track from Commons (@common)  10th album titled Nobody’s Smiling.  The track which features rising Chicago artist Lil Herb (@LilHerbie_EBK) provides an introspective outlook on the realities of growing up in inner city Chicago. The track is special because it explicitly provides a parallel between two generations of young Chicagoans.  Both Common and Lil herb open their verses listing influential gang sets of their respective years in the city, representative of the withstanding gang culture in the city.  The pairing of veteran Chicago rapper Common, whose been known as a conscious artist throughout his career, and new generation Chicago artist Lil Herb, who has come up in the controversial south side rap scene known for its violent gun rhymes, create for a very genuine message as we are still able to clearly see the correlation point of their views on city life over this powerful track.
