Written by: PJ Gordon A human dies, as a Human keeps on living. In honor of his birthday, Chicago rapper Human dropped an EP last year. Continuing that tradition, he’s released I’m Glad He’s Dead, a project laying to rest the person he’s just stopped being. Self-recorded throughout the past year, Human goes over Roots beats and the classically dope “Mighty Healthy” beat. First and foremost, this guy can spit like crazy. Hearing his rhyme schemes and the way he puts words together is always entertaining, making for a very active experience. Still, like so many upcoming artists from Chicago, Human has a lot to say, although he takes a wider scope than most of his peers, commenting on national issues rather than just what’s immediately outside his window. In true EP fashion, this is just a taste of what Human has planned, and he assures us that he does have stuff cooking. There is no word yet on when he’ll be dropping a full project, but with beats he made himself set to be on it, we can deftly expect something special when he’s given a full canvas.
