KAMI and Joey Purp team up for the first time in 2019 on the new record “Sayless" produced by Holly.
The duo hop back in the booth over some truly melodic production here, with a synth melody that teleports you to the world KAMI and Joey must see when they are in the booth together. Hookless and boundless, this record shows the teeth on the two friends and musicians as they showcase their skillset amassed over years in the hip-hop scene. Joey flows effortlessly as he raps “Only smoke ’93 Petrol, been the same nigga from the get go” but the true summary of the song in general, and which it gets its namesake from, is his final bar “I could say more but I’d rather sayless”. KAMI takes the baton and runs full force to the finish line as he shows just how much “blood and tears” he puts into the booth and every single syllable.
“Sayless” is only KAMI’s second release of the year following up the Valentine’s Day release of the Vic Mensa assisted “Fake Decent”, but the first for Joey. The duo formerly known as Leather Corduroys seems to be brewing up more than just this single, as the cover art mentions a “series of songs” and KAMI posted about this being “TRACK #1”.
Stay tuned for updates about forthcoming releases.
