Maryland-based artist K.E. makes his Prime Fortune debut today with his recently released EP, "Insomnia."
K.E. really started coming on toward the end of 2019, and he’s taken a step further this year so far with the release of this EP. At just about 17 minutes, the five tracks fly by as K.E. drifts over complimentary melodies. On the opener, “Sleep Party Sebastion,” he laces his emotional messages over the soft guitar. “Lost my voice screaming at the wall, demon at my door standing ten feet tall, why we build it up just to watch it fall?” K.E. demonstrates his versatility as he explores a range of production on the tape, offering more introspective insight on “Northlight.” But the standout is late-night loner ballad, “REDD,” where K.E.'s world view comes across. “These n****s got different goals,” he sings, “we know how these things go, go, roll it up and let it go, pain can’t stay in my home.”
