Chicago artist Morocco Brown is back on our pages today with his latest single, “mania”. For this joint, Morocco hopped on a relatively simple loop with energetic 808s and some crackling snares, courtesy of frequent collaborator CBBeatz.
He speaks on a variety of topics, including how people in the industry try to fake it until they make it and end up fizzling out. He touches on the subject while brushing off not having a project out yet, rapping, “n****s fake raw, n****s f*** around and fade off, I ain’t even got a tape drop, that’s a cake walk”. Releases from Morocco’s corner have been few and far between — his last song coming out in March with Taylor Bennett featuring — but a lot of care and effort has been put in before putting out each of his singles. Now, it seems as if Morocco is poised and almost ready to debut his first project, as the description for the track contained a message proclaiming, “MANIC. 1/18. | ALL IN.” Regardless of what Morocco has in store, be sure to give “mania” a listen on his Soundcloud with the link below.
