Comprised of of Luke G and Ali, it’s safe to say Chicago rap group New Kingz is the face of Chicago’s new class of rappers that are up next. The two have chemistry dating before music, and a year and a half later the talented duo has been making a lyrical splash that has is growing into a movement.
“Who” shows growth in the youngsters, not only as rappers, but as musicians. Ali and Luke G take turns trading flows, ad-libs and singing, as the two get hype over the Glassic produced instrumental. They’ve seem to master harmonizing, their voices in a way where that gives the two a unique sound from anything else coming out of the city.
A lot of attention -- and rightfully so -- go to the Migos and how natural they seem to compliment each other, but New Kingz are a rap group with an innovation and skill level that should yield just as much praise.
Listen to the single, “I Kno” that they dropped last month for example. The single starts off methodical and slow, and you have Ali assisting Luke with background vocals, then they trade off on the second verse, while still matching the mood of the beat.
Let’s get these two their own headlining concert already why don’t we? Share, support and check out their other singles on their soundcloud.
