Written by: Bradley Johnson Still riding high off their successful documentary series on Chicago's rap scene, Noisey takes things down south to the birthplace of trap music in their new series on Atlanta. The first episode titled "Welcome to the Trap", opens with a voice over of someone describing trap music and what the trap is in general. This person turns out to be none other than Curtis Snow, made famous by the docudrama "Snow on tha Bluff". For those unfamiliar with Snow, he was the star of a highly controversial found footage style film that documented his everyday life as a drug dealer in his rough Atlanta neighborhood. Although he found moderate success after the film was released, Snow was forced to go back the streets of Atlanta, as evidenced by footage of him still cooking crack in his trap house. From here we're introduced to Bleu DaVinci, rapper and former affiliate of the infamous Black Mafia Family (BMF). Made famous by the song Blowin' Money Fast by Rick Ross, BMF was a drug trafficking organization that controlled almost all of the drugs that came into Atlanta for most of the 2000's. DaVinci goes on to explain that although many things have changed since BMF was in control of Atlanta's streets, he's still doing the same things he's been doing since before things changed. The episode concludes with us being introduced to the Migos, one of Atlanta's biggest acts and are sure to be an entertaining watch in the next episode.
