Serving as the first of what one can hope will be many collabs between Classick Studios and
Rooted Sound, is the smooth Phoelix single “Wrong”.
Curated by Fat Jesus [@whatwouldFJdo], who’s a talent management/artist developer and creator of Rooted Sound, “Wrong” feels like all the right pieces fell together at the right time.
Phoelix’s tone and synth-y harmonizations welds perfectly under the tutelage of mixer and sound engineer Don Hulio [@DonHullio] of Classicks. And producer prodxzn knew just the right mood to for Phoelix’s creativity.
You should know the Fox Valley front-runner from his debut GSPL project -- which the standout “Red Beans & Rice” -- or from his two, very well received singles since, “Pluton” and “Sultan”, but you haven't quite heard him like this.
While “Wrong” still offers Phoelix’s patented melodies and vocal arrangements, you’ve never heard his voice this strong or clear. The autotune is clean, intentional and tasteful, and features Phoelix hitting face-melting runs, all within the flow of the song.
This is forsure a joint you wanna play late night after a couple a drinks with a shorty.
Can’t wait to see what Phoelix can do on a full-length project with this kind of production and mixing.
