Chicago artist Phor put out his new album “Butterfly” last week, and it has been making waves on the back of the album’s lead single “Chi Town”. Phor utilizes the glossy, eclectic production from frequent collaborator Lehday to deliver a cohesive project that really demonstrates his capability as an artist.
On “Going Up”, Phor speaks on his come up and how it’s changed his life but that it still hasn’t solved all of his issues. He raps, “lot of love but still my heart is filled with pain, I remember when I had me no supporters, now I ball like Jordan in the fourth quarter, all this hard work I just finally got some credit”. From front to back, “Butterfly” is filled with introspection and Phor’s musings on life. It’s a fitting introduction to him for new listeners and an embodiment of what he is as an artist for longtime fans.
