“Therapy didn’t work. Music Did.”
I was extremely honored to oblige a request from a rising Chicago artist by the name of Tooty, who decided to premiere his sophomore project today “Suicidal Thoughts” produced by Von Vuai on Prime Fortune.
Tooty is a 25 year old Hip Hop artist from Chicago, Illinois, who traversing the world of music in 2012. His sophomore EP; “Suicidal Thoughts” was inspired by his bouts with depression and contemplations of suicide. A very introspective and expressive project “Suicidal Thoughts” has this gloomy yet uplifting vibe; there this underlying message to me that translates: you can get lost in the darkness of your own mind but you can also find a way out. I was immediately impressed with stylized production of the first track “Underground Railroad” cleverly samples Ab-Soul’s “A Rebellion”. The produced entirely by Von Vuai, with features from well-known Chicago artists Trapo and XVRHLDY. Tooty’s goal is to contribute to the genre of Hip Hop with music that will evoke passion in the world and hopefully inspire people to follow their dreams despite the adversities and obstacles holding them back.
