Profiles: The UnGnomes- The last of a dying breed

Punk rock is not as popular as it used to be. If you are or ever were a fan of this style of music it's clear that it no longer has a strong vocal following in Chicago’s youth culture. 

Before, you could go to Belmont and Clark and see punks roaming the streets and flyers for shows all over the place. Now the scene remains isolated to the south side, practiced by fewer and fewer people every year. So to see a group like The Ungnomes release an album so fresh and aggressive is really a breath of fresh air (more like a breath of cocaine and kush smoke). Their album "Servicio" is reminiscent of the early Black flag records. It’s fast, angry and has multiple breakdowns that showcase the talent and versatility of these young musicians. These kids aren’t even out of high school and they show a lot of potential. Stay on the look out for these guys! Their album is posted here check it out.
