Almost two months after his debut album “Don’t Wait For It”, San Diego-based rapper Rob $tone is back with a statement. Making his comeback as an independent artist, $tone gives fans an inside look at the whirlwind he has been through with labels through the "Money Now" video.
The video is directed by San Diego filmmaker Yellow Nguyen and with stunning visuals, it explains Rob $tone’s stance on the labels and management that he did not agree with. Beginning with a short silent portion presented almost like a modern silent film, the video illustrates businessmen trying to coax $tone into signing away his liberties. This quickly ends as $tone and his partners stain the men of their cash and Lamborghini. The video and song then take a celebratory turn as Rob $tone repeatedly boasts “gettin money, I got money now.” Smoke flumes, flames, and mirrored images are a visual trip as viewers are transported into Rob $tone’s lavish world.
“Money Now” is a statement of independence and power from $tone, he’s looking to make big moves free from the control of others, the first being his upcoming $tone Cold Tour. Until then, check out the new video below!
