Having an open mind with music is key, especially when you've never heard of the artist before. More importantly, being put on to good music leaves you wondering why you haven't heard them before.
This was my first time hearing Roy French, and it seems to me with his three track EP "Melt", he's a quality over quantity artist. (Eighteen tracks typically extremely hard to listen through).
"Melt" starts out with a skit to set the scene. It makes perfect sense; "if you spend most of your days with a n**** that ain't doin shit, what the f**k is he going to do for you?" Getting further into the tape , Roy reminds me of ASAP, and a Juicy J type vibe in "Dripstyle"; and by the time you get to the final track "Glo", you'll feel like you sipped lean with the MC, which doesn't seem like a bad idea. He puts out an EP definitely worth listening to, clocking in at a mere 7.14 minutes. All in all, check out "Melt" EP, the latest from Roy French, below.
