Coming off the success of his critically acclaimed debut mixtape "The Calm" at 17, Mississauga, Toronto rapper John River returns with "The Storm" and it's very very good.
The Storm, 12 songs, features production from teenage sensation Wondagurl, FrancisGotHeat and John River himself. Toussaint Morrison, Kamilah Apong feature with vocals, along with Chicago's own Saba Pivot.
Touching on everything from racism to street life and even dropping out of high school, "The Storm" is refreshingly unique in today's day and age. After being touted as the next big thing out of Toronto by Kardinal Offishall and being nominated for Hip-Hop video of the year at the MMVAS in June, the future looks promising for the 20 year old rapper.
