Watching Kweku Collins transition from a local artist to a local legend has been incredibly fun and admiring. First, Kweku released his debut project 'Weirdo'; hinting at his potent lyricism and song crafting abilities at a young age. Then Kweku released a series of singles, each single displaying Kweku's understanding of melody and sound as a whole. Kweku then released a series of mixtapes, creating the buzz that someone of Kweku's stature and talent needed, in order of broadcasting his sound to a larger audience.
Kweku found himself on the Closed Sessions roster, and after a series of elegantly crafted singles, he blesses us with 'Say It Here, While It's Safe'. This project features 7 songs compacted with melody, emotion, and imagery. Kweku displays a high level of literacy throughout this project with his thought provoking lyricism. Kweku produced most of the project, with 2 tracks being produced by BoatHouse.
Let's just say Kweku isn't so local anymore...
