Written by: Bodhi STYLO (@BodhiStylo) Chicago's own Vic Spencer unleashes "The Cost of Victory" a verified masterpiece. The 15 track album showcases Vic’s energetically charged and lively flow. Who can define the proper price of victory? None can truly say but Mr. Spencer’s lyrical interpretation to the true meaning of the phrase is further understood through each track. Vic’s message reverberates through the soulful samples infused with these inconceivably incredible instrumentals from producers Doc Da Mindbenda, Illeet, DC, and Fortified Sounds. Vic is someone who believes in striving for his goals, blazing high grade ganja, not allowing himself boxed in any brackets that would make him similar to anyone else or not allowing ignorance amongst his peers to keep from his achieving his dreams. Vic Spencer has a powerful perspective, simply wanting his message to be heard through truthful lyricism mixed with comedic goofball antics with his alter ego Vic Greenthumbs. I asked Vic Spencer what inspired him to shape the album the way he saw fit and Vic’s reply was, “all the people that said I can't make records that people won't play forever.” Vic did not come alone with features from fellow Chi Town rapper Sulaiman, Black Spade, Sean Price, The Primeridian, ILLA Ghee, and Yaw. The album is not to be missed. Check out “The Cost of Victory” below
