Written by: Bodhi Stylo (@BodhiStylo) Still hot from his recent Saturday Night Live performance alongside Kanye West and Sia, Vic Mensa is on a mission to let the world know that SAVEMONEY is here to stay. Producer team Blended Babies release "Shakedown '99", a precursor track before Mensa's explosive into the mainstream. Before the critical acclaim of "INNANETAPE" SAVEMONEY's Vic Mensa hooked up with Blended Babies and recorded with them in Los Angeles to create melodically mellow track "Shakedown '99". Vic Mensa crooning is vibrantly visual, along with distortion of the guitar. This track has that "drive through the city without a care" vibe which I love most. The chrous line reads "Ridin’ round, gettin’ high, like it’s 1999 Nothin’s wrong and nothin’s right" Vic isn't allowing problems to circumvent his everyday life and he's enjoying life to the fullest like it's 1999. Mensa had a productively phenomenal year in 2014 and you can expect him to go into overdrive for the 2015.
