An artist’s true goal is to create and to feel, to connect with the audience on a deeper level. No matter if it’s the 90’s rap of old or the “new wave” of the future, the main goal of any rapper is to be loved. With his latest release, that is exactly what Chicago product Yung Dutch hopes to accomplish.
With his new record “LOVE ME ♥”, we find the rapper back by an extremely ethereal beat, with lots of digital melodies and bass heavy drums to compliment Dutcho’s raspy vocals. Throughout his verse Dutch delivers some graphic bars about laying out any man that tries to get with his girl and serving “mollies and tabs”, which albeit is a common topic nowadays, but he couples it with a pleading hook hoping that every single person “loves” him even though he is doing wrong and the feeling might not be reciprocated. He has the power to admit “And I hope they love me but can’t be no hubby”. The music scene loves bitter honesty, and this is what Dutch delivers on this record.
With an EP on the way, listen to below “LOVE ME ♥” and get ready for the summer time.
